As Darkness Surrounds - Love, Live, Fight, Honour
As Darkness Surrounds are a five piece metal band from Doncaster
They recently released their debut EP which consists of five fresh sounding English metal tracks.
The first track is titled The Long Journey Back and opens with an easily recognisable riff and kicks into an awesome display of what the music scene around Doncaster has to offer.
The second track is titled You Disgust Me Too and starts real energetic and heavy and also has awesome clean vocals thrown in too, which for me is a bonus!
Thirdly Love+Hate this track continues the theme of starting off heavy for the band and really makes an impact on the listener, more recently metal music has become huge in Yorkshire and these lads are right on track to getting themselves out there and making a name for themselves. Again we have more clean vocals put in , personally I like when bands have clean vocals and unclean vocals mixed in
Paul You’re Fucked is the final track and ends the EP in pure metal fashion with heavy vocals and riffs and also provides the clean vocals that I love so much, I personally think this is the best track on the EP, the lyrics are brilliant and it is just perfectly written.
Along with providing a great sound recorded the band also deliver live so you should definitely check them out if you ever get the chance!
