Pray For Hayden - Chances EP
Pray For Hayden are a five piece pop-punk/indie band from Leeds and are scheduled to release their EP Chances later this year (February 7) We have been sent a copy to review and here is what I made of it!
Pray For Hayden bring in a new sound to an ever growing generic music scene which is brilliant, in recent days I have been hearing bands experiment with a mixture of genres and its really paying off for them, that is the case here too!
The EP starts off with a track titled Death Of Me and it just explodes with energy and brilliance. Fast paced music that you can sing and dance along to and over all enjoy greatly! The vocals work really well with the backing music and the lyrics are catchy which is a real plus!
The second track is called Never Let Go, and keeping a similar pace to Death Of Me starting off really pacey and dancey and at the same time including rock riffs to give you that Pray For Hayden signature sound, again the vocals and lyrics are brilliant and once you've learned the lyrics I am positive you will be singing along!
Thirdly on the EP is a track titled Pictures Of You, this track is bit more slower at the start with an awesome opening riff and great synth work. It quickly picks into a heavy hitting chorus and keeps the same rhythm and pace from there on in. This track really shows off the bands originality I would say, with a great mix of genres and instruments.
The next track, Torch In The Dark, is my favourite on the EP, it starts off really slow and relaxing and then it just explodes into energy music genius and has a great combination of instruments too! The vocals and backing vocals are really well done, but this applies to all the tracks really!
And last but not least we have a track titles Lies. Lies starts off slow and calm and in true Pray For Hayden style kicks into a heavy hitting chorus with an upbeat verse to follow it. Again I can't find a single fault in the track at all, I really enjoy them all and think the lads have done a spot on job with the EP!
I would definitely recommend checking these guys out and giving their music a listen to, they really demonstrate that no matter how generic a music scene may be there are always ways of making things unique and different!
