Scarlet Sunset - Feel EP

Scarlet Sunset - Feel EP

Barnsley based pop-punk band have finally released their eagerly anticipated first EP! Hitting the listeners with a blast of summer sounding tracks one after the other.

The EP is six tracks long and kicks off with a real eye opener, or ear opener if you like, titled To Tell You The Truth. To those who know front man Joe Wood (Guitarist Ava Divine) and have not heard Scarlet Sunset I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at the voice he has on him! The track has a nice slow steady beat and soothes the listener into the bands sound before the next track takes over with a more up beat tempo.

The next track titled Time And Time Again has a real taste of classic American pop-punk about it and just gets you in the summery mood! I have a sneaky suspicion that the EP will be on my Summer playlist this year.

The third track titled Feel, of which the EP takes its name, starts off slow and steady and drags into a great soothing opening on vocals and slow drum beats. Usually the track that gives the name to the EP is something special and Feel is no exception with really catchy lyrics and a great song to sing along to. The track also demonstrates just how jaw dropping and unbelievable Joe's vocals can be, totally took me by surprise.

What Was Made is the title of the next track and opening with a more upbeat and faster tempo to the previous songs is probably one of the more energetic tracks on the EP, again the band show just why they have such a great buzz around them writing witty lyric'd songs and matching them with the perfect backing instrumental is a trait hard to come by in many bands.

All We Had is the name of the fifth track again opening with soothing low tempo vocal and music before gradually picking up into an explosive chorus driven by a powerful drum beat and catchy guitar riff.

The sixth and final track on the EP is titled Exit and really tops off the album in my opinion it leaves you wanting to hear more and more and really shows that the guys have the ambition to push them selves forward.

The guys have released the album at just the right time as it has a real summer feel to it and is incredibly easy to listen to over and over again on repeat if there was any EP I would recommend checking out it would most definitely be Feel.

Feel free to check the guys out on the following link, and as always let us know if you agree or disagree with the review! : Scarlet Sunset

Riff Final Rating: R R R R R *Ones To Watch* *Summer Feel Good EP of 2011*
