You Cried Wolf @ Riverside, Selby

You Cried Wolf - Selby Riverside

The headline band were not You Cried Wolf it was Melody Of Your Demise but due to transport we had to leave before we could get our MOYD out which was a bit gutting.

Support came from Kill To Gain and You Cried Wolf

For the first time since the major mess up former Riff members worked together on a gig, me and Callum both took a bus down to Selby, we had a great trip down as well with a very drunk traveller giving us life lessons for half an hour.

After landing at the Riverside we readied ourself for a heavy night of great music, we were told that bands would be on at about 8 so we booked a taxi accordingly for when we figured it would end, but bands did not show on stage till about 9pm so de to that we missed a lot of the second band and of course the head-liner.

First to take the stage was Kill To Gain a four piece band from Keighley. The lads ripped apart the stage as soon as the came on! I'm surprised the drum kit still works after their set. Kill To Gain opened the show perfectly though and I give them a lot of credit after a technical glitch meant they had to play song that they haven't performed for a long time. Vocals were amazingly well performed and the band did just as well. Keep an eye out for these lads they are well worth catching out on the road.

We were really pushing time at this point and the second band just took the stage. You Cried Wolf a 5 piece band from York. We only managed to catch one song but my god the lads showed us a great amount of potential. Vocals were insane and the band worked so well together. The crowd gathered around for the lads and we even got some nutter kicking off a pit. I would highly recommend checking out these guys they are destined for bigger things!

Highlight of the night: Has to be said the bus journey made my year with our new friend, but gig wise I would say finding great new bands to potentially work with this year

Downside of the night: There wasn't a great turn out, but never the less The Riverside threw another great gig and I can't wait to be back down there for the Metal Night with our boys One Night Stand With Fate at the end of the month!
