Of Mice And Men @ Moho, Manchester

Of Mice & Men - Moho, Manchester 28/04/2012

We headed down to Manchester with an all new Riff team this weekend, consisting of photographer Jason, interviewer Adam Jones and myself (Adam Ruane) with a special guest in the form of Robbie Burton (Make Me Immortal) to review and interview at the Of Mice & Men tour date, support came from With One Last Breath, Crossfaith and Bury Tomorrow.

WITH ONE LAST BREATH:

Due to interview commitments we missed the opening to With One Last Breath's set, but we were back in time to see them halfway through, the crowd were piling up at the front and filling out the small venue nicely, the guys sounded on top form and with just over a month to go until their Download Festival appearance they seem to be on perfect form.

CROSSFAITH:

Coming all the way from Japan Crossfaith had the crowd interested from the very first song, again the Manchester crowd made the band feel welcomed by showing them a great amount of support and movement and during their cover of 'Omen' by 'The Prodigy' they were backing them with loud crowd vocals. A fantastic band and ones to check out if you haven't done so already!

BURY TOMORROW:

Southampton boys Bury Tomorrow kept the trend of awesome crowd involvement going straight from the word go, opening the set with crowd favourite 'Lionheart' and carried on through the set giving one of the best live performances that I have seen all year.

OF MICE & MEN:

Hitting the stage in explosive fashion to a barricade of cheers and arms pumping into the air, Of Mice & Men destroyed Manchester in such an intimate setting playing a set-list that kept all fans happy, after finishing their set on a high note they vacated the stage to chants of 'One more song' and sure enough they delivered with 'Second and Sebring' with front man Austin Carlile insisting the crowd sing the clean vocals through the entire song. The room lifted with an immense amount of energy and the roof was blown off!

In summary, all the bands performed brilliantly and the crowd were on top form, one of the best gigs I have ever attended, huge credit to the security too, they managed to keep the place safe and in one piece!
