Funeral For A Friend - Welcome Home Armageddon

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day I would be reviewing a Funeral For A Friend album before its release date!

Right on to the album!

Welcome Home Armageddon will be the bands 5th studio album once it is released on the 14th March and consists of 12 incredible tracks that will put a huge smile on all FFAF fans out there!

Track one, The Side Of Brightness is just an instrumental introduction to the breath taking album you are about to experience!

Old Hymns is the is the first track and kicks off a phenomenal amount of energy and really shows that Funeral For A Friend mean business and are back making incredible music again, with catchy lyrics and brutal instrumental as soon as you hear this opening track you are left eager for more.

Front Row Seats To The End Of The World is the next track, which has been released as a single to show fans a glimpse of the album and let me tell you now, as brilliant as a track this is, it is nothing compared to other tracks on the album so if you love Front Row Seats you will fall instantly in love with the whole album.

Sixteen is the title of the next track, it has one of the most amazing riff's ever in it and is accompanied by some amazing lyrics, it kind of has a feel of old Funeral song's with a bit more energy behind them.

The next track is titled Aftertaste, it kicks off really paced and catchy with the lyrics, which seems to be the theme of most of the tracks! you can really tell the band have put everything into these tracks and they have really paid off in my opinion.

Spinning Over The Island - This track kicks off with some awesome scream vocals which have been incorporated into a lot of these tracks, which is different to some of the older FFAF tracks, and in my opinion this new sound is brilliant for them and I would be really surprised if fans hated this album.

Man Alive is the 7th track and possibly my favorite on the whole album, it combines a similar Funeral For A Friend sound from earlier albums and has a mix of their new sound too, along with more brilliantly written lyrics and instrumental it is guaranteed to be a fan favorite...surely!?

Owls (Are Watching) Is the track on the album that I think has a lot of the old Funeral For A Friend sound to it, much like Roses For The Dead and Oblivion,, that kind of a vibe comes off on this single, so any fans looking to jump down the bands throat and claim they have changed too much, they haven't , this track proves that.

Damned If You Dead, Dead If You Don't is the 9th track, and again keeps the theme of a new sound for the band with a fast paced sound and great gang chanting vocals thrown in for good measure!

Medicated is the next track, it starts off a lot slower to the other tracks and gradually builds up a great momentum and kicks up into a brilliant chorus with, this is easily a contender for best single on the album it is too hard to pick a favorite it really is!

Broken Foundation is up next and starts heavier than the other tracks with a fair bit of screaming vocal input throughout, I imagine this song will be a great track to perform live with plenty of parts to get a crowd shouting along!

And finally we have Welcome Home Armageddon, the single for which the album took its name from starts off with a great energetic riff before breaking down into great vocal work, the track ends slowly with the words 'Every little lie I told' and brings the album to a stop.

All n all I think this is some of the best if not the best music the band have ever produced and most definitely worth a buy! The band head out on tour very soon to promote the album so keep an eye on their pages to find out what's happening, here is link to their Facebook page :
