The Jones - Self Titled EP

The Jones - Self Titled 2010 EP
The Jones are a five piece Indie band from Leeds that deliver a breath of fresh air into modern day Indie music.

Lead singer Kris Jones is very talented and has the voice to lift The Jones into the spotlight, accompanied by Kev Jones, Adam Jones, Chris Jones and Jamie Jones the band deliver a very melodic easy going rhythm to their songs which get you singing along as soon as you have learnt the words!

[Wide Awake]

Wide Awake starts off real catchy with a great guitar riff and howling vocals and picks up into a kick ass tune with clever lyrics and a mixture of vocal styles along with brilliant musical input. The song is really showing just what these guys are capable of.

[The Girl Is Like A Gun]

Again with the great opening. The Girl Is Like A Gun has a lot of energy to it and is very fast paced compared to Wide Awake. The chorus is really catchy and once you have learnt it you will be singing along. The song shows that as well as producing easy going songs the band can also get a fast paced energetic songs mastered just as well.

[Spotlight]

Spotlight is my favorite song on the EP. Its fast paced and everything about it just kicks ass, the lyrics, the vocals the music its brilliant! Its starts off at a slow pace and then explodes into a great rhythm of guitar and drums. The Jones are really showing off their qualities with this track piecing together original music and genius lyrics to produce an amazing tune.

The Jones are highly talented and demonstrating just what the UK has to offer the world in terms of music. They can easily be compared to the Indie music giants we see on the television today such as Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and The Arctic Monkeys.

I would definitely recommend heading over to www.myspace.com/thejonesofficial to give these guys a listen to they are well worth your time!
