Open Invitation - Twilight Princess

Open Invitation - Twilight Princess EP

The up and coming acoustic sensation that is Jonny Gill has sent over his EP for us to have a listen to, here is what we make of it!

Going under the name of Open Invitation because, in his own words, his first name is slang for a condom Jonny has been driving his music forward recently in the local scenes. Supporting on many all day events and securing big slots on shows with artists such as Luke Pickett, who we have landed an interview with.

Jonny opens the EP with the track Twilight Princess of which the EP takes it's name, for me personally this is the best track on the EP and rightfully gives it it's name. Opening with a very iconic piece of music with soothing vocals laid over the top Twilight Princes really puts a stamp on Jonny's music and leaves you wanting to hear more.

I Was Never A Giant is the next track on the EP demonstrating Jonny's incredible vocal and writing talent packed with genius lyrics and original instrumental work accompanied by the perfect vocal harmony it would be hard to pick something out of place inside such a perfect song.

Ghost Vs Witches (Live) Showing just what he is made of by having no worries over placing in a live track to the EP, demonstrating a more smoothing and some may say mature sound Jonny really manages to capture an audience and his listeners where ever it is he plays. Incorporating a more fun side to live music by interacting with his audience in any way possible whilst at the same time playing perfectly.

Friday Night Lights (Live) is the last track on the EP, a daring move to place one live track into an EP let alone two! and not many bands have attempted it or would probably dare attempt it, but it really shows just how perfect he can perform the music he writes live. If you have ever caught Jonny live you will realize that he doesn't just perform his music, he also interacts well with an audience and has fun on the stage which is something hard to come by in many bands these days.

Giving a new breath into the English acoustic scene Open Invitation is more than worthy of a moment out of your day to sit back and relax to, you can listen to some tracks via his Facebook page located here : Open Invitation
