The Ocean Between Us - Selby Riverside
We were back down in Selby on Sunday for what promised to be a heavy night of music! Support came from INheptic, Do Not Resuscitate, As Darkness Surrounds, Maes Lost Empire and Shadows Lie Within.
First up were INheptic, a very young band consisting of members aged 15 to 16 years old. They showed us age was not problem though and had a great set playing some originals and covers to fill out a great set which seemed to be enjoyed by a lot of the crowd, keep your eye out for these lads!
Next to the stage were Do Not Resuscitate from Leeds who showed that they have the quality to be a top band one day showing off their skills at a pretty packed out venue.
As Darkness Surrounds were up next and after seeing them in Doncaster recently I was expecting a great show, and they delivered giving another great performance and managing to win some new fans by the look of how many people grabbed one of their EP's.
Maes Lost Empire were next up next and continued the theme of awesome bands. They showed us why they are doing so well in their music career and are definitely worth catching out on the road.
The Riverside was packed out and ready for the last couple of bands and really were showing their support to all the bands that played.
York based band Shadows Lie Within were next up on the stage, I last saw these guys at Selby when they supported TOBU last time and knew that they would get things nice and heavy ready for The Ocean Between Us. They played a brilliant set and showed a lot of quality in their set, if you haven't checked these guys out yet you really should do.
And finally, The Ocean Between Us hit the stage with new guitarist Simon, bassist Ben, who was not at the last Selby show was there too, so with a full line up and packed out crowd they kicked off their set, the place went mental instantly, people were fighting to get to the front and scream the lyrics along with front man Judd. And when they finished their energetic, heavy set they were called back for an encore! Selby asked for TOBU to come back and my god they hit back with a great show.
The Ocean Between Us have their debut EP out on ITunes now so go grab a copy you won't regret it!
Highlight of the night: Partying with the bands and meeting some of the members for the first time was amazing. And the crowd were on top form, well done Selby for officially rocking the place to the ground!
Downside of the night: One Night Stand With Fate had to drop out of the line up which was a shame.
Credit to The Riverside for putting on another awesome show!
