One Night Stand With Fate Headline Tour

One Night Stand With Fate - Headline Tour

From the 19th till the 24th February One Night Stand With Fate were out on their first headline tour ever, main support came from Ava Divine and Melody Of Your Demise. There were some issues with venues so some dates were cancelled on late notice, Dewsbury and Hull.

Due to Dewsbury not having the equipment sufficient to even name themselves a music venue we had to cancel the show, Melody Of Your Demise and You Cried Wolf arrived on the scene to assess the venue and after a few messages were exchanged we called it a day.

Next venue on the road was Wakefield Snooty Fox, support came from Better For Nothing, You Cried Wolf, Melody Of Your Demise and Ava Divine.

You may remember that we were down in Selby some time ago to see You Cried Wolf and Melody Of Your Demise but due to travel issues we couldn’t stick around to see the whole set from both bands. First on the stage were newest additions to the Riff family Better For Nothing, and they did an amazing job warming up the crowd (Or what was left of the crowd after a few were removed, Fuck Yeah John Mumby!) They showcased the tracks from their EP including my personal favourite Dresden along with some new songs, I was very impressed with their stage presence and ability to play as well live as they sound recorded. Next up were You Cried Wolf, and after seeing one song in Selby a while ago I was eagerly waiting to catch their whole set. They played brilliantly and delivered an awesome energetic show but at this stage there wasn’t an awfully large crowd present to see them play further complications arrived afterwards when they decided to continue as a band without one of their guitarists, so if anybody is interested in joining You Cried Wolf do get in touch with the band! Melody Of Your Demise came on to the stage next, and then quickly back off of it and into the crowd! Amazing stage presence held by these guys on top of their incredible ability to play their instruments and sing live, Front man Chris Kendall does not know the meaning of the word stage as he spent most of the set in the crowd and getting everyone motivated, they played their hearts out really impressed which makes me quite gutted that I missed them in Selby before hand! Ava Divine were next up and did an awesome job of showcasing their tracks from their EP that is currently being released via their Facebook page, so check it out! I hadn’t heard these guys before hand so I was very impressed by their sound and they performed amazingly well! Finally up on the stage were one of Riff’s very first bands One Night Stand With Fate, They burst on to the stage showcasing a new song to open their set which was quickly followed by their well known tracks such as ‘If Angle’s Could Talk (They’d Say Shit Happens)’ The lads kicked off their headline tour in great fashion and even bought the DVD of their set so keep an eye out for that.

The following day was a day off and I spent it with One Night Stand With Fate in Cleethropes, there is a tour video with some footage of what we got up to there so check it out!

The day after we were meant to be in Hull but due to technical difficulties with the venue we had no option but to call it off, which gave us all a nice break at home to sleep in our own beds!

Next stop on the road was a personal favourite venue of mine, The Riverside in Selby, which was guaranteed to be an awesome night! Support came from INheptic and Mitzi’s Revenge along with Melody Of Your Demise and Ava Divine. Youngsters INheptic were first to take to the stage, coming back to The Riverside after supporting The Ocean Between Us there earlier on in the year, with an average age of 15 these guys really restore your faith in the youth of today, the crowd seemed to enjoy their set as well as the other bands. Next on to the stage were highly acclaimed Mitzi’s Revenge who will be releasing their EP very soon they have a taster on their Facebook page so give it a listen! They played amazingly well and again the crowd seemed to enjoy them so they are definitely worth catching live, get down to their EP launch show! Melody Of Your Demise were up on the stage next and after learning the words to some of their songs I was up front getting involved with them, again, Chris abandoned the stage and jumped into the crowd to get them involved, Guitarist and clean vocalist Jonny Gill also came into the crowd for a bit too, I would also like to point out how insane his vocal work was too if you check out their track ‘I Bet She Looks Good On The Dashboard’ you will see what I mean! Ava Divine were up next, again I had learnt some words to sing along to and be involved Selby seemed to really enjoy their set and they will be coming back on Sunday the 6th March so get down! One Night Stand With Fate took the stage lastly and showed another new song that they had only played once before, all the bands helped make an atmosphere for each other by jumping and dancing around. One Night Stand With Fate are also back in Selby on the 6th March with Ava Divine so come down if you missed out on tour.

The last date on tour was at Doncaster, One Night Stand With Fate’s hometown. Support came from Put On The Brakes and Do Not Resuscitate. Put On The Brakes were first on the stage, but due to time issues they did not go on till pretty late they shared the stage with One Night Stand With Fate before in Wakefield at battle of the bands the trio made a great impact on the stage performing very loud in front of a fairly decent sized crowd. Do Not Resuscitate were up next, I caught these guys in Selby before hand so I knew they could deliver a great set, they showed a lot of promise in the set and played really well, keep an eye out for them gigging near you! Melody Of Your Demise were on next to complete their leg of the tour, they kept consistent all the way through on every date and provided a great set every night and to make Doncaster extra special members from One Night Stand With Fate, Ava Divine and myself were all asked to join them on stage to lend our voices for the opening of ‘Arrogance Is Bliss’ which really made the night that much more awesome! Ava Divine took the stage next for their end to tour, by this time most of the crowd knew the words and were happily chanting along and giving the boys a great send off, mid way through the set someone thought it would be awesome to start fighting with Rob the sound engineer, which, well ended up with him being thrown out and disrupting the set a little but the boys played on and ended their leg of the tour in great fashion again don’t forget to check out their EP that they are releasing via their Facebook page! And finally One Night Stand With Fate took to the stage at this point it was 11pm, non the less the lads played awesomely well despite being knackered and worn down from touring, we even got our very first crowd surf from Curtis Johnson during the set. Doncaster was the perfect send off for the tour and despite all the cock-ups along the way everyone seemed to have had an awesome time! Good friends were made along the way and we are already planning a second tour in summer so keep an eye out for that!

I just want to personally thank all bands that played their hearts out on the tour, It was the very first run of shows I have ever booked and I think it went quite well! Also a big shout out to all the sound engineers and promoters that helped out.

Best part of the tour: Making some amazing friends with the bands

Downside of the tour: Dewsbury. Enough said.
