My Passion @ Cockpit, Leeds

My Passion - The Cockpit Leeds

A last minute e-mail confirming an interview with My Passion meant that we were on our way to The Cockpit to do what we do best.

We knew that we wouldn't be able to stay for the whole night as travel arrangements were really poor.

The support for the show came from Summerlin and Dead By April.

First to the stage was Summerlin. They wasn't as heavy as the other bands playing but still got the crowd behind them and sounded quite good, they only had a small set to play but all in all they were a great opening act. If you want to check them out then head over to www.myspace.com/summerlin

Next to the stage was Dead By April. Many of the fans in the venue were looking forward to this band and as soon as they hit the stage I could tell why. They bought a great presence to the show with their power pop metal music. Things got really heavy and the crowd were very involved in the music, Singer Jimmie gave his microphone to the fans on many occasions. Check these guys out at www.myspace.com/dbaswe

Time flew past and with about 10 minutes left before we had to leave for the train My Passion came on. Their entrance was amazing with bright lights everywhere, the crowd were 100% behind them and from the two songs we managed to catch we can safely say that My Passion are amazing on stage bringing with them a great presence and energy that all bands need to have if they are to make it anywhere in music. They are also real nice guys off stage we spoke to Laurence so keep an eye out for that! Check out My Passion on www.myspace.com/mypassion

Highlight of the show: It would be unfair to say any band did better than the other considering we did not stay for the whole show, so I would say the lighting effects on My Passion's entrance were brilliant.

Downside of the show: The fact that the train times home meant we had to leave early so we did not catch the whole show was a bit of a let down.

Keep your eye out for the My Passion interview!
